What a joyous day at the Cross Country competition! Here at Virginia our space is limited so the athletes of Year 4/5/6 loved the chance to run in an open field for miles! It was a cold day but our runners were full of beans as they took turns running the various distances!
Well done to Huzaifa, Yasir, Mayesha, Yusra (yr6) Jannah, Zafirah, Shahriar, Ishaq (yr5) and Aayan,Yaseen , Hannan, Micheala (Yr 4) for taking part! 'Meeting Daniel has inspired me to never give up and to go through the 'I can do it door' rather than the ' I cant do it door'. - Zakaria yr 5
' The visit from Daniel inspired me to be more confident and never give up, he taught me to believe in myself' -Sajida Yr5 (statements taken from the children's dream books) ''They are such a good team to watch play and support'' - BarbaraAfter the great friendly at Lawdale - Year 6 Boys trained hard and were sucessful at winning the cluster football competition! Sadly I missed the competition as I was poorly but Theo and Barbara were so proud of how the team worked so well and battled their way through to 1st place! This is the first time in many years that our boys have won the cluster football comp! We look forward to the borough football finals which will be happening in March.
Well done boys! I am very proud of you! On Friday 30th September Year 6 Boys enjoyed an evening of great football at Lawdale Primary! The boys had a wonderful time and the final score was 5-3 to Lawdale. Thanks to Marc for letting us take part in this match and have lots of football fun!
I would also like to thank Alice and Shay for giving up there Friday evening to take the boys along due to my absence. They were both so impressed with the boys behaviour and skill and had a great time too! Well Done Boys! As a new school year begins, the children have been enjoying the prolonged sunshine and have taken advantage of the weather by spending lots of time outside!
On the 16th September I attended the Annual Tower Hamlets Youth Sport Foundation Conference! This is where all of the PLT’s around the borough meet up to share ideas organise competitions and discuss how we can use THYSF to support our PE. Alongside my role of sports leader at Virginia, I am very excited to be working alongside Marc and Matthew as we help to support our cluster this year. CLUSTER 6:: Hague, Thomas Buxton, St Anne’s (Matthew) CLUSTER 7: Columbia, Lawdale, St Matthias, William Davis, Virginia (Marc Nurse & Emily Casey) Let’s have another fantastic year! Emily! |
