Summer term is in full swing, which left very little time for the amazing handball team to practice! BUT... Both Team A and B made me immensely proud as they worked as a team to play excellent matches in the handball competition today at St.Pauls Way Secondary School. Each team member displayed good skill and encouraged their other team members. For example, when Team B were a few goals behind Bygrove, Safwaan shouted '' Be the best you can be'' to help motivate the team! Well done Safwaan! After a round robin of matches Team A ( photo below) battled through and were crowned winners of the day! They won 3-1 in the finals against the talented team from Bygrove! A particular mention to Shuhel who was a star goalie! I would also like to mention Tahmina and Safwaan, the confidence that radiated out of you today was wonderful, you are both extremely talented handball. I am so proud of each and every one of you, the way you all came together as a team was inspiring and even Hasina couldn't believe how well you played together! A big well done to you all! Today Shay and I took 16 young talented cricketers to their first competition! Although the weather was dismal both A and B team did extremely well and placed 2nd in the group stages! It was so close and they worked so hard! One of our games we scored a high 268! Special mention to Jumayna who focused really well and to Shaheda for her excellent catch! You were all amazing and I am so proud of you all. Still inspired from our visit from champion BMX rider Mike Mullen, 10 students from year 5 and 6 had a fantastic time today at the Lee Valley Velo Park centered in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park!
We had the chance to explore the velopark and then had a go on the BMX bikes! We had such a great afternoon!
Today some children from Year 3 and 4 took part in a Tennis Competition at Bethnal Green Gardens where they met other students from different schools in the borough. They performed extremely well and I was so proud of the amazing skills they showed! All 12 of the children won a game at some point in the competition! Some won every single match! For some Year 3 students, this was their very first competition and they were incredible! Congratulations! We are very proud of you all!
