Today I took 16 children from Year 4/5 to compete in the Year 5/6 Kwik-Cricket Competition. The standard was extremely high however both teams were very successful. Both Team A and Team B won their group stages early on and went straight through to the quarterfinals.  Team B had a very challenging game and lost out on a place in the semi finals. Team A battled their way  to the semi finals and had a close match, however the other team scored more runs which won them the game. I am so proud of all of you for stepping up and taking part in a competition which was very challenging. Well done Team A for 3rd place. You are all amazing!

Special mention to Shahrirar year 5 - Your fantastic batting in the close quarter finals match resulted in us making it through to the Semis.

On Saturday 13th May, 9 year 6 students had the opportunity to experience the SSE Womens Cup Final match between  Birmingham and Manchester City. For many of them, this was their first
time being at the heart of the action and hopefully it has inspired them to push themselves further in their own abilities so that one day they can take part in such an amazing sporting event with record breaking crowds!  We all had a fantastic day!

Throughout spring term PE at Virginia has been absolutely incredible! The children have enjoyed a range of different sports and the teachers have all remarked that the skill, behavior and effort shown by each class has been excellent. 

Special mention to Year 5 for their excellent performance in the 6 week Handball coaching.
 Mohammed (THYSF handball coach) and I were able to watch them all grow from strength to strength, They are all truly gifted and talented in this sport!

Well done to the children and staff for making PE this n and exciting this Spring Term 2017!
