Dear Parents,
We have reached the end of the first half term of Year 2! I've been very impressed by the children's ability to adapt to the new classroom set up and all the new routines we have in place at school. They have loved spending time with their friends this half term and I'm sure you'll agree they have earned a good rest over the half term. Here are your very talented children performing their poetry slam video.
This week, in English, we have been learning how to edit, redraft and publish our written work. Here are some photos of the process!
I think you'll agree they've done a great job!
In Maths we have been learning how to use a number line to subtract. Homework
You'll be pleased to hear that the children will not need to do any homework over the holidays.
We have sent extra books home and some of them will also have some Reading Challenge books to keep them busy. If you would like to do some activities over the break, you can take some ideas from the Year 2 take away menu from this half term and do continue to support your child with their 2, 5 and 10 times tables.
Thank you for all your support this half term while we have been figuring out new systems and procedures.
