Wow! We are flying through the first half term.
The children have been making great strides both academically and socially and we are really enjoying getting to know them as the weeks progress. In English this week the children have been creating story maps to assist them with their retelling of the story 'Wild!' next week. Some children have jumped the gun and recreated their own story books at home! We love seeing what they have been working on at home so do continue to send it in. We also had a go at doing some drama and freeze framed the last page of the book. Can you tell who we are pretending to be? In Maths we have moved onto addition and subtraction. This week we have been focussing on fact families and deriving information from simple number facts that we know. We will be moving on to using place value to add and subtract next week. Spellings:

This week we have given the children some two times tables work. We highly recommend using some objects to show the children how two times tables work. You may wish to use pairs of socks, pieces of pasta (cooked or uncooked depending on how messy you feel like getting!), or any other small objects that you have lots of in your home.
The below image will support them up to 2 x 6 = 12. |
