We read the story 'The Way Back Home' by Oliver Jeffers this week.
Look carefully at the pictures below. How is the boy feeling in each picture? Can you explain why?
Watch the retelling of the story below to help you.
We have been learning lots of new sounds in phonics.
Check your homework book to see which letters you need to practise!
Remember to look at your sight words every day. Take a look at the video below to see how you can practise them.
We don't sound out sight words, we just 'see the word, say the word!' Well done Reception for taking part in our Children in Need day, the school raised lots of money for children around the world. Explorers! There are different types of exploring. People can explore the seas, the skies, the earth...and even outer space! Look at the scenes below. Which place would you like to explore and why? Create a picture of the place you would like to explore. Use anything you have at home! You could use colouring pencils, paints, felt tips or crayons. You may even like to create a collage using material and glue. Here are some ideas to get you started... Remember to practise your sight words...and have a great weekend!
Building Bridges This week some of the children have been thinking about bridges. Talking Challenge We were talking about Tower Bridge and London Bridge.... How are they the same? How are they different? Which do you like best and why? Creative Challenge Can you build a bridge? What will you make it out of? How will it stand up? Who will cross the bridge?! Bring your bridge to school on Monday or take a photo and email to Lucy [email protected] Remember to check your homework books to see your fine motor and pen control practise. Always think carefully about the caterpillar letters. |
