Music Lessons from THAMES
Music Projects, Resources and Links

Welcome to our Music Blog

16/6/2020

Hello Everybody!

Make sure you click on these two sections!
Top of the page!

1-Music lessons from Thames

2-Music Projects, Resources and links

Remember to take part on Thames' Singing Challenge!

Let's get our voices warmed up

Remember to....

Sit or stand straight

Keep shoulders down

Breath in gently

Every time you sing

Imaging a  wonderful sound.

SONG OF THE WEEK

Believe

Listen to the song

Practice three times

Don't forget to...

Enjoy singing!
Remember!

Practice makes perfect.

Revise
   last  five   week's  songs!

Three little birds

Let love shine through

Be the change
One  and a million

There is power in the music

One moment, one people

Do you know the lyrics ?

If not, write them down and
memorising them!

Once you know the lyrics...

Your performance will improve!

Rachmaninov's second Piano Concerto

Listen to the music.

Can you move to it?

How is your movement?

Can you describe it?

Does it change through the piece?

Close your eyes, and feel the music.

Can you make a list of the different

emotions that the music makes you

go through?

Remember!

Rachmaninov's was a Romantic

composer, for the Romantic it was

all about the expression of human

emotions!

Did you know?

Rachmaninov’s second Piano Concerto is often

described as the greatest piano concerto ever written!

COMPOSER OF THE WEEK

Sergei Rachmaninov (1873—1943) - Piano Concerto No 2

Born into a musical family, Rachmaninoff took

up the piano at the age of four.

He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory

in 1892, having already composed several piano

and orchestral pieces.

Movement

Music moves at different speeds with different

levels of power and energy.

Some feels fast and powerful, while some moves

slowly and gently.

Music, Mood and Emotion

I would like you to explore how music can be used to reflect different emotions within a movie.

I like you to click on the link below and listen to Team Tutti's lesson and do the activities.

Creative Project of the  Week

STORY TELLING, MUSIC AND DRAWING

Listen to  Morning Mood by  Edvard Grieg (1843-1907)

As you listen to the music try to draw the story that you imagine.

Be creative and let your imagination fly.

Creative Project of the Week Y5/6

Inspiration is the process of being mentally stimulated to do something creative!

This week I like you to create your own music using  the piano roll  with Team Tutti!

Team Tutti  is a online  music resource.

Be Creative!

I would like you to:

1-Watch the introduction to the piano roll

2-Scroll down and you will find the the piano roll. Press play and experiment with the keyboard!

3- Have Fun making your own  melodies.
This week I like you to think about an emotion that you like to reflect in your melody.

4- Don't forget to scroll down and do the Quiz!

I hope you enjoyed this week's music blog!

Mercedes
