 van Beethoven

Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827).

He was a composer and a pianist.

He  is specially know for his musical achievements.

In the face of increasing deafness, he was inspired to
write  amazing compositions for big orchestras.

Ode to Joy

Listen carefully...

There is a melody that keeps coming back.

CREATIVE PROJECT OF THE WEEK Y5/6

Inspiration is the process of being mentally stimulated to do something creative!

Last week I asked you to experiment with Note flight!

A free online music software to write music.

How did it go?

Did you have a go?

If you haven't...it is never too late to catch up with the music blog!

This week I like you to create a short melody based on:

The C Major scale

                        Remember...

                        Practice makes perfect.

                        Revise
   last  two week's  songs!

                        "One  and a million"

"There is power in the music"

                         "One moment, one people"
Song of Joy,  appears in Beethoven's Symphony No.9 in D minor.

Do you know what a symphony is?

A symphony is a large musical work for orchestra.

It is usually divided in four sections, called movements

A symphony can also  contain voices.

Did you know?

Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 was the first one to use voices.

Listen to the Ode to Joy played on the piano

More listening!

Beethoven wrote 9 Symphonies.

Watch this amazing performance of his Symphony No.5

You only need to watch from 0.00-8.00 (first movement).

Observe how the conductor is guiding the Orchestra.

Do you like his role?

Do you imaging yourself conducting an orchestra?

Symphony No5  by Ludvig van Beethoven
Did  you recognise some of the instruments?

Which one is your favourite?

Let's learn more about the instruments of the Orchestra!

CREATIVE PROJECT OF THE WEEK

Did you record your butterfly song?

if not, it is never too late to catch up with the music blog!

This week I like you to listen to:

The Carnival of the animals by Camille
 Saint-Saëns

Let your imagination fly, be inspired...

And make a drawing as you listen to the music

Now..

Watch a performance of the the whole piece.

The Aquarium is just a small section of a longer piece of music called The Carnival of the Animals.

Enjoy!
