It has been a really exciting term in Year 6 and they children have really enjoyed the WW2 topic. The children have worked so hard in all areas of the topic and we ended with an amazing 'Evacuee Day' experience. The children looked amazing in their war time clothing (thank you parents). Activities on the day included understanding how ratitioning works, decoding Morse code messages, baking fruitcakes with limited ingredients and designing their own propoganda posters for the british public. We had a wonderful day stepping back in time. Miss White and Miss Casey are very proud of you all. Houses of ParliamentYear 6 really enjoyed their trip to the Houses of Parliament. The tour included access to the House of Commons and the House of Lords. They also attended a workshop inwhich they created their own law and discussed some of the implications of passing the new law. |
AuthorYear 6 have had a very busy half term. They have completed their World War Two project by making Anderson shelters. They also wrote a diary entry from Anne Franks perspective - the writing from all the children was very moving and beautifully written. ArchivesCategories |
