Bonjour Year 5!
How did your facial composites look? Did you practice your units of mass? Don't forget to read for at least 20 minutes everyday and write any words up in your vocab book for our challenge. Look up definitions online. I can't wait to see them! Check out Serial Mash on Purple Mash for books to read online. Make sure you try to answer the questions after you read the text.
Also follow this link to Amazon Audible:
https://stories.audible.com/start-listen There is huge library of books that you can listen to while you are doing your school work! How awesome is that!?
Lastly, we all have to find ways to keep fit and healthy while we are in isolation, check this out:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAxW1XT0iEJo0TYlRfn6rYQ Everyday Joe Wicks will run a P.E session online, all you have to do is watch and follow his moves. What a great way to exercise at home!
Challenges for today:
Literacy: Using the plan you made yesterday, I would like you re-tell the story of the Highwayman as if you are Tim. Can you write two paragraphs from Tim's perspective. Remember to use first person as you are Tim, lots of show not tell and challenge yourself to use relative clauses.
Paragraph one: What did he see? How did he feel? What did he do?
Paragraph two: What happened to Bess and HWM? What did he see? How did he feel in the end?
Here is my example. Use it for inspiration. Try to be creative. This might take you a couple of days. Try to proof read, self critique, edit and up-level. Write as many drafts as you want to improve it.
Maths: Check this out - http://teach.files.bbci.co.uk//skillswise/ma23capa-e3-f-what-is-capacity.pdf
Log into study ladder and have a go at the 'Units of capacity' activities.
ICT - Can you use purple mash to create a new 2diy 3d game. Play it with your family.
Enjoy your day. Theo :)
