Aloha Year 5!
I had some more amazing chats on the phone with you guys yesterday. Thank you to you all for being so open with things you need support with. That is one of the main reasons for my calls. I am always so happy to be able to help you with your learning and with life. Don't ever be afraid to ask for help on the phone or on Purple Mash. I am always here to help. Also a big thank you to Zuzanna and Ismail for finding some mistakes on the blogs for me to correct :)
Yahya and I also had a very long chat about the current situation in America with the tragic death of George Floyd. He wanted us to start a chat about it and for us to show our support to the peaceful protesters around the world. Message me on Purple Mash if you would like to talk about it #blacklivesmatter

Our Learning Today
Lo: to unpick film images
Alright, so we have investigated different elements of film and focused a lot on sound for the last few days. You should have made some predictions. Today we are going to look at some images from the film. I want you to look at them and write a sentence describing what you see. Make your sentence as ambitious as you can.
Here is my first example:
First of all I need to look carefully at the image and think about what I see. I see a house. It looks like it's night time. The house is in an empty desolate place. So I might make a sentence like:
The dark blue house, that was all alone in a desolate place, stared out at the night sky.
Have a go at one of your own.
Here is my second example:
What do you see? What questions do you have? What is happening? I think I can see a man or an animal. Are they wearing a mask? I know they are looking at a mirror. They don't look very happy. So I might write a sentence like:
The masked animal looked longingly at himself in the mirror, he had no idea what was about to happen to him today.
Have a go at one of your own.
Here are the rest of the images. Have a go at making a sentence for each of them.
Today is our final day using angles. Here are some challenge questions for everyone. I want you to read or look at them carefully, take your time and try your best. Some of these look a bit different but they are still asking you to follow the same rules we learnt this week. You do not need to do them all but try to do at least 3 of them.
Lo: What is success?
Gather your family members. Start off with any of our circle time games. Now read this sticky question to get everyone talking and debating.
Hopefully you have all got into the debate process. Can you think about the image below. What is success? What is failure? What makes a person successful? Can failure ever be a success? Can success ever be a failure? Would you rather be successful or a failure? Which one teaches you more? Let me know your thoughts on Purple Mash!
Have a great day and weekend. Speak to you on Monday. Theo :)
