Ola everyone! Hope you had a good day of home learning yesterday. The weather is looking lovely again. I hope you are managing to go outside and doing some physical activities with your siblings or family.
Thank you Mohammed for sharing your home learning. it is so great to see your hard work. You have used your times table facts and different strategies to work out the answers for multiplication. Lovely table with all the temperature for the weather forecast and you have confidently read the temperature on a thermometer. Great use of verbs and adverbs in your sentences. Well done Mohammed!
Thank you Amelia. Fantastic instructions for making the medicine. You used bossy verbs and time connectives to show the order clearly. Can you add some more instructions for your ending? For example;
When it bubbles, let the mixture cool down for 10 minutes.
Finally, pour it inside a glass bottle and keep it away from children.
Remember to give 2 table spoons only.
Well done on completing the temperature challenge. Remember to add the unit of measure for temperature. Well done for all tickled pink for your reading questions. Great work Amelia
Thank you Jazmine for sharing your home learning. it is a shame that the picture is a little blurry. You have answered the reading questions clearly in detail. I would have liked your instructions to be a bit more clear and more time connectives to show the order. Make sure you are trying your best. Well done!
Can you draw your own dragon? What would be its special power? Write a short description of your dragon.
Yesterday we started to write direct speech using inverted commas. Today we will carry on with writing speechs but replace the verb 'said' with better words. Remember the words spoken by the character goes inside the inverted commas (66 99). Go back to yesterday's learning if you need more practice.
Lets try this one together.
"George, don't forget to give Grandma her medicine at 11 o'clock," said George's mother.
Now lets change the verb said.
"George, don't forget to give Grandma her medicine," commanded George's mother.
Use these verbs above to come up with your own sentences for Grandma and George's direct speech. I have given you some sentences, copy them out but you have to change the verb said. Then, try to come up with your own sentences.
"Give me my tea now," said Grandma.
"Be patient Grandma, the water is not ready yet," said George.
"Where is my saucer?" said Grandma.
"I will fetch it now Grandma," said George.
How did you get on with yesterday's activity. Practice counting in 2s, 5s and 10s from any number.
22......... what would be the next number if you are counting in 2s?
35......... what would be the next number if you are counting in 5s?
110........... what would be the next number if you are counting in 10s?
Now have a go at the challenges below.
Where do we go if we have an accident or we are not feeling too well? Do you know the place shown in the picture below? Do you think in London the healthcare was the same as 100 years ago? Imagine Corona Virus happened during the time of Great Fire of London, do you think the healthcare would have been the same as now?
