Thank you for handing in lots of your work! I have some great writing to share with you from today! Here are some pieces from Zach, Talha, Ishaac, Zhraa and Rima. They have all thought about the impact their writing has on the reader... I was hooked! Have a read...
That's not all... We have some more writing in the eyes of Sir Lancelot! Year 6 have been busy at home and Clare and I are so happy to see you still trying hard with your writing! Keep sending pieces in! Here are some by Aqilah, Nusrat, Cathy and Jubayra...
Finally, here are some informative newspaper articles written by Aqilah and Aman! They have some great advice! Keep sending them in via the email: firstname.lastname@example.org or on purple mash!
Good Morning Year 6.....
It's time to pack your virtual bags, grab a snack and let's go on a virtual trip to.... Athens!
In preparation for your new topic, let's explore the beautiful and majestic Parthenon, Acropolis in Athens.
Click on the link below and follow the curser around. It will give you a 360 degree perspective of this wonderful place.
Remember to click the arrows to allow you to wonder up, down and around. Once you have completed your tour, answer the following questions and send them into me. You can complete this on purple mash too.
1. What is the Parthenon, Acropolis?
2. What could you see there?
3. How did you feel being there?
4. Why did the Ancient Greeks go there?
If you are finding it difficult to navigate then try this instead:
Have fun on the trip!
Once you have returned, have a go at this maths arithmetic paper... lets see if you can remember the strategies we used in class!
Salma and Clare :)
Hi Year 5 and 6!!!
I hope that you are all well and making the most of your home-learning opportunities! Salma and Theo have been creating such fabulous resources and activities for you to complete. You guys are so fantastic at learning!!
I have been busy on my ELSA blog (which you can find on the school website) Salma will attach a photo to show you how to find it. It really is so important that we look after our mental well-being during this time. I try to post different activities associated with looking after our mental health.
My aim is to create a virtual ‘The Space’ on Purple Mash where we can communicate whenever you may need to talk about a worry or if you want just have a chat /take part in an activity to brighten your day :)
I am logging into Purple Mash each day to check on what you are all doing (the learning is AMAZING) and I am replying to any messages that I receive - PLEASE do message me! I love to hear from you! It really makes my day to know what you’re up too and how you are enjoying the learning.
Remember though, little and often home learning is better than cramming it all into one day! You should also take the time in your day to look after your physical and mental health.
DO things that you makes you feel HAPPY! Please don't spend too much time on technology! ( I can sense the eye roll at this statement haha)
Whether you...read your favourite book, bake a yummy cake, listen to some music, dance around your living room, see how many kick ups you can do in 30 seconds, doodle on paper, build a fort from pillows and blankets or relax to your favourite movie...
Do something that makes you feel happy!!
I know at the moment it can feel a little bit daunting for some of you. Not knowing when we may return to school or when you will get to see relatives and friends is scary for a young person to understand but just imagine the immense feeling you will feel when you are finally reunited with the people that you love. You will learn so much from this experience. You will learn how to be grateful for what you have and that material things really don’t mean nothing at all.
Just before I go...
Think of this experience as like being stuck in traffic in a tunnel. You know and you can see the light at the end which is the way out. You don’t know how long you may be stuck in this tunnel. You may begin to get bored, you may try find things to do to keep you entertained in this dark tunnel. You may get annoyed, increasingly frustrated... BUT what keeps you calm is that you know that there IS a way out and you’ll get there soon. Keep moving towards the light at the end. We will all be out of this tunnel soon.
Keep positive - keep smiling - keep being YOU!
Missing you all more everyday!Take care & wash ya hands!

After reading Zhraa's poem I thought it would be lovely for you to all write some Spring poems as it is my favourite time of year. I love seeing the sun shining and the flowers beginning to bloom.
