Kali Mera Year 5! How did you get a long with our tasks yesterday? I hope finding a perimeter makes sense now? Which UN global goal did you research? Don't forget to message me on Purple Mash with any questions you have and send pictures of work to the school email. Also a reminder that If I don't ask you to use Purple Mash for your work then I would like you to do it in your work book. I think it is important we keep using our handwriting and limit our screen time as much as possible. So use that work book just like you would at school (date, LO, neat handwriting, presentation). Our learning today Literacy: Lo: to write a witness statement Today I want you to imagine you have been walking along this beach. What do you see and how do you feel? ![]() Now in the distance you come across this... Finally, what do you do to help.. I would like you to write a statement about your experience. Where were you? What did you see? What did you do? How did you try to help? What will you do in the future to help animals like these? Maths: Lo: to calculate the area of rectangles and squares Today we are going to be learning about area. So what is area? How do we work it out? Can you work out the area of this shape? Let's have a go at this one... ![]() The length of this shape is 14cm and the width is 3cm. Remember the formula to find area is length x width. So we have to multiply 14 and 3. 14 x 3 = 42 So the area of this shape is 42 cm² Have a go at these. Find the area of at least three of these shapes. You choose your level of challenge. CLIC strategies will help with your multiplications, especially smile. Here are today's challenges. You do not need to do them all.. ![]()
Geography: Lo: to investigate countries on each continent I would like you to choose one country on each continent to investigate. Use the CIA Factbook link to find countries and research information about those countries. https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/ ![]() Step 1 - Select this guide to country comparisions ![]() Step 2 - Select Geography and then area ![]() Step 3 - You should see this screen. The countries are in size order. Just click on any country to explore facts. Spanish: We now have a Spanish blog on our website and there will be a new lesson posted every Wednesday. Please check it out for today's lesson. You can find it under the home learning tab. virginia.towerhamlets.sch.uk/spanish-blog Finally, it looks like we are going to have a lovely sunny week, so don't forget your exercise with Oti, Joe or Darcey. I think Steven is making his own routines. Maybe he should film one and send it to us to follow? Try to enjoy the sunshine from your garden, balcony or window. And have a great day guys!
