Czesc Year 5!
Hope you are all safe and well. How did you get on with yesterday's tasks? Which highwayman/woman did you choose for literacy? What did you find out about them? They all lived very interesting but dangerous lives. Special mention to Katya for already handing in her web page about Ned Kelly. She even made a Ned Kelly maze game. Very impressive!
Also guys, I just wanted to mention that if you have any questions about the coronavirus or the current crisis, please message me on purple mash. I am here to help and support you. Alternatively, you can use this link to Newsround. They have lot's of info and explanations about everything.
Challenges for today
Reading: Continue reading on Serial mash and completing the tasks set for each chapter.
Literacy: Today I would like you to use your research to start a blank web page on Purple Mash for your chosen highwayman or woman. Remember to use your own example of Dick Turpin for inspiration. Here is an example written last year by a year 5 child.
Maths: Have a go at these using our CLIC strategies:
9152 ÷ 53
743 x 285
61,307,029 + 13,759,062
54,020,644 - 35,816,859
Today I would like you to do a measuring investigation with your family members.
You will need to measure your heights and test the theory by measuring how far you can each jump. Which unit of length is most efficient for measuring height and distance jumped? Would you measure them in millimetres?
R.E: Last week we researched a Christian celebration. This week I would like you do some research and find out facts about other important religious festivals. What are the most important celebrations in Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism and Sikhism? How about the smaller religions?
You can take notes and make a poster in your workbook or you could use the blank poster template on Purple Mash.
This link should help. But feel free to look for your own or do a search on Espresso.
Enjoy your day. Theo :)
