As-Salaam Alaykom Year 5!
I bet your stories are all really exciting! I would love to read them! If any of you would like to type them up on Purple Mash so I can read them, go for it! You could use the 'blank chapter book' app. How did you get on with your games? Hope everyone in your house had a go. Remember to check out the other resources on the school's home page under 'Learning at Home'. There are loads of links for you to follow and keep yourselves busy. And check your 2do list on Purple Mash regularly, I update it with new activities all the time!
Challenges for today:
Literacy: Continue with your writing from Tim's perspective. Keep drafting and editing until you are happy and then write it out in neat (on paper or Purple Mash).
Extra Challenge: You don't all have to do this. But if you have time, try to write the story again from an opposite perspective. Someone that liked the highwayman and experienced the story in a very different way. For example the Landlord. You could describe his fear of the red coats, how he loved his daughter but couldn't save her, he was happy that she loved the highwayman and his sadness when he lost them both? Try and be creative, have a growth mindset and do your best!
Maths: In the past we used to measure things differently. We hadn’t invented the very simple metric system (which we have been learning about this week). People used something called the imperial system. In the UK, we use both and it is important that we learn about the differences.
Have a read of these conversions https://www.theschoolrun.com/what-are-imperial-units

Enjoy your day. Theo :)
