Dzien Dobry Year 5!
A special mention this morning to Ahmed for sending me the first part of our R.E work. He made a really mature and honest list of things he will need to navigate life's journey. Thank you Ahmed. Also Dylan for posting, on Purple Mash, how he unpicked the opening scene in literacy. Finally, I would like to give an extra mention to Nazimah. We had a really great chat on the phone and she is working so hard to be motivated and positive about her learning. I am really proud of you Nazimah, keep up the growth mindset :)
Don't forget to join in on THAMES summer singing challenge. Here is a link to all their resources and songs.
Keep sending in your work to me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Our Learning Today
Lo: to draw a story map
I want you to watch the opening scenes again. This time I would like you to draw a story map of what happens.
Draw a story map for the opening sequence of the film. Follow this list to help you remember how to draw a story map:
Draw little images to represent what has happened.
Use arrows to show changes.
Draw from left to right.
Lo: to problem solve with coordinates
Let's start off with some CLIC questions:
52,456,704 + 74,432,672
107,322,661 - 83,543,129
314 x 628
5933 ÷ 31
Today we are going to do some problem solving with coordinates. Please read them carefully. Have a growth mindset and try your best.
Here are your challenges for today. You do not need to do them both.
Lo: My well being
Gather some family members. Start the session with a game to warm up. Now I would look you to discuss your well being. How are you feeling? What have you enjoyed this week? What has made you smile this week? What are you most proud of this week? Who helped you achieve something this week? What kind act did you do this week? Let us know on our Purple Mash Circle Time post.
I am going to set you a task for next week. I would like you to keep a well being diary.
You could print the diary if you can. If you can't print it, then make a poster in your book with the same questions.
Have a great day and weekend! Theo :)
