Good morning Year 4, how has your day started?
This morning there is a special national assembly with the Duchess of Cambridge, it is live at 11am and you can find it here: https://classroom.thenational.academy/assemblies/
Here is today's Thinking Thursday task.
English - Writing
How did you get on creating your second character yesterday?
How is their personality different to the personality of the first character you created?
Some of you might have guessed what today's task is. Your job today is to decide on the appearance of your second character. Remember, you might want to make links between their personality and their looks. Draw a picture of this character and label it with the important information.
Have you given either of your characters a name yet? If not, now might be a good time to do that. It will be helpful next week if you already have a name for them.
English - Reading
In Chapter Nine we discover who has arrived late to the petition and what they are demanding of King Fred.
Follow this link to find the chapter: https://www.theickabog.com/the-shepherds-story/
When you have read the chapter, answer these questions.
We're going to apply our addition skills in a different way today. This task requires you to be able to add two or three numbers to make 100 and so you will need to be using your knowledge of jigsaw numbers to help you.
Each circle in the pattern has a total of 100, you need to work out what the missing numbers in the circle are.
CHALLENGE: Using the same numbers in the circles above, can you work out which new numbers would be needed if the circle total became 150 and not 100?
This week, we are continuing to learn about computer systems.
Today's task is based around answering the question, how do we get computers to do what we want them to do?
Follow this link to BBC Bitesize: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zht4kmn and work through the activities.
There are some videos to explain new concepts as well as some activities to help you embed your new knowledge.
Keep working hard, we miss all your smiling faces!
