Morning year 3!

 Reminder- this Wednesday afternoon, we will be having a transition afternoon. Look at yesterday’s blog to check which group you are in. Please come!! We would love to see you. Please bring in any of the school's reading books + any crome books with their charger that you have. Thank you!

Reading - Round the park

1.What does ‘round the park’ mean?

2. At the end of the poem the line is:
​“Aren’t you going to the park?
Not on my own!”
      Why doesn’t the person want to go the park?
 
3. Find a word that means silly.

4. Read the poem twice. Perform it to your parents/ siblings/ grandparents. How can you make it                     exciting? Could you use different voices to show the conversation? 

Literacy 

Create your own version of the poem” Round the Park” but change the park to a different place’ for example ’round the shops’ (round a friends house, round the cinema). You also need to change what the other person scares you with rather than a ghost. What could it be a clown? A vampire? A tiger? A zoombie? A huge spider? Here is my example!

Where are you going?
Round the shops.
When are you back?
After they close.
 
Won’t you be terrified?
What a joke
A vampire’ll get you
Don’t be silly
 
 
I know where it hides
No you don’t
And you’ll run away
No I won’t
 
It got me once
It could’ve …..could it?
It’s all spooky
Tisn’t …is it?
 
 
Where are you going?
I’m staying right here
Aren’t you going to the shops?
Not alone!

Maths 

How did you get on with division yesterday? I know you find division more challenging than other calculation strategies but this means this is the calculation you need the most practice at. Don’t worry you will become more confident with more practice.

Let’s revise step 16. Remember we use multiplication facts to help us work out the learning

Challenge Questions:

  1.   I have 30p in my pocket in 5p coins. How many coins do I have?
  2. Cards come in packs of 4. How many packs do I need to buy to get 32 cards?
  3. Use the inverse to check if the following calculations are correct:
15 ÷ 5 = 4
120 ÷ 4 = 30

​We are living through strange times aren’t we year 3. The impact of Corona Virus has meant that are using the internet and your cromebooks more than ever before.This is why I thought a reminder about making sure you are being safe online. Going on line is like crossing the road – if you don’t do it safely then you can get hurt!
