Good morning year 3! How did you get on with the tasks yesterday? I hope you have got back into the swing of home learning. It can be a bit tricky do this after a holiday so be kind to yourself and if you found it tough yesterday don't worry- try again today- use that growth mindset motto we thought about at the start of our home learning.
Book Swap - NOW EVERY OTHER WEDNESDAY 2pm-3pm
Wednesday 3rd June - Book Swap
Wednesday 10th June- NO BOOK SWAP
Wednesday 17th June - Book Swap
Lets continue to read the first chapter of 'Stig of the dump'. Barney has just fallen down a chalk pit.
Use the text to draw a scene from this part of the story- it might be Barney lying down his feet tangled in the creeper- think about including details from the text for exmple he lands in a den that is full of lots of different things e.g motor car tyres, hats, light bulbs. Be thorough in the details that you include.
Learning new words helps you to become a better writer. Have a look at the words that you will need to learn to understand the story we are reading this term 'Firebird'
Look up the definitions of these words in a dictionary and write the definition next to the word.
Today's learning builds on what we did yesterday- if you need more practice at step 10- make up your own number sentences and practice that skill before moving onto step 11!
Partition the 2 digit number
Write out a digit number and work out the answers
Add the answers
2 x 32 =
2 x 41 =
3 x 14 =
3 x 24 =
4 x 16 =
4 x 22 =
I think of a number and add 4. Then I multiply by 2. My answer
is 24. What was my number?
Greater Depth Challenge
Multiplying a number by itself always gives an odd answer.
True or false and why?
Yesterday I asked you to think about what you know already about light! The first thing we need to think about is different light sources- some are natural for example the sun and others are man made like the torch on a smart phone. Draw or print out the table below and put the different light sources in the right column. Is it natural or is it manmade?
Enjoy your day year 3!
