Bonjour Year 3!

Did you all watch Boris Johnson's speech on Sunday? I found it a bit confusing !! Have you been getting outside for exercise?

Thank you for sending in your fantastic learning!

Adam

Adam has been enjoying daily exercise in his local park- no matter what the weather! I am so glad  that you are getting exercise and fresh air. Well done for completing your puzzle aswell- it can take a lot of patience to complete a puzzle!

Farhan I love your description of the old mans dreams- you have thought about all your senses and I can really see it in my mind. I'm really impressed! Well done!
Picture
What a detailed description of your local area- great job Farhan!
To begin I would like to share yesterdays reading answers with you:

Questions:

1 Is this a fiction or non fiction text? How do you know?
Fiction because it includes facts about something real. I can also see the features of a non fiction report.

2 What year was the first cup final played?
1872

3 Put the following information in the order that it appears:

An exact replica was made
The losers ribbon is removed before the presentation
the 'little tin idol' was stolen
The cup was wearing out from  being handled

4 Find and copy one word that shows that a team was recorded to play in the competition.
registered

5 What does FA stand for in the FA cup?
Football Association

6 What do the people who lose in the FA cup final get?
A medal

Reading

Picture
https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/elevenses-catch-up/

David Walliams is updating his website everyday with audio books of his books. Yesterday it was the beginning of 'Bad Dad' . He will be adding new chapters everyday.

Look at the front cover - what do you think the story will be about? Look for all the clues you can from the illustration and title.

Find somewhere comfortable and have a listen to the start of this story.

Literacy

Each sentence has an incorrect spelling- can you spot it? Rewrite the setences in yur best handwriting and correct the incorrect spellings.Remember when doing handwriting practice you need to sit upright - remember normal letters, ascenders and descenders are all different.

Listen to the story that we have read so far! I have a task for you for afterwards.

Picture
What do you the old man's plan is? Look at the picture and think about what you know about the man already.

Look back at the predictions you made about the story . Did you guess anything about the story that has happened?

Maths

Counting    Count in 4s
0 ,4,8, 12 , 16....

Count in 10s
0,10,20,30,40,50...

Lean its (facts you should know without having to think about then)
6 + 6=
7 + 7 =
8 + 8 =

Its nothin new
3 + 2 = 5  If you know this -what else do you know?

I can add a 2d tens number to another one

Remember to:
• use your ‘Learn Its’ to find how many tens altogether
• turn your tens total back into a number (6 tens = 60)

20 + 30 =

Picture
20 + 10 =
30 + 30 =
20 + 40 =
50 + 20 =
40 + 50 =

Make your own number sentence:
_ 0 + _ 0 =

Challenge
70 = □ + □ (multiples of 10)

Using 2 digit multiples of 10 only- how many different options can you find? e.g 70 = 10 + 60

Can you work systematically to make sure that you find all of the options?

Geography

Design your own rainforest animal. Think about its name, which coutries it is found. If you ranimal just lives in the Amazonian rainforest then you can just out Brazil. Don't worry about put the habitat that it lives in as we haven't learnt about the different layers of the rainforest.
