Hola year 3! I have been looking through purple mash and have really enjoyed reading some of the post cards and other learning that I have been seeing.Thank you too Samirah,Sinead and Sarah B- it is so nice to hear what you have been up to. Remember to use correct punctuation and capital letters at the start of each sentence- once you have written it you can go back and edit the punctuation. Read it out loud- it helps to hear if it sounds correct and helps you to know if you need to add comas or full stops. I hope that you are all being careful and not having too much screen time- break computer time up with other things like reading a book, playing your board game, making a different board game, baking or cooking and writing a story or doing some art. ![]() I have created a Year 3 Class Blog on purple mash. The above image shows how to find the blog.Click on 'sharing' the globe at the top and then click on 'shared blogs'. Once you are on the blog you need to click on the green cross in the corner- this will let you write a comment.I might ask you to send me answers to some of the home learning tasks. This can be used for you to ask me questions, ask for help when doing home learning ,to share how you are feeling and what you have been up to. It will help us to keep in touch and learn together! I will see all comments and approve every comment that appears on the blog so your comment may take some time to appear. So onto today's exciting learning: Reading Login to Purple mash and search for Beth and the Nile and read Chapter 1 and do all of the activities associated with this first chapter. Literacy - LO To create expanded noun phrases. Think back to the story we have been reading in class ' The Egyptian Cinderella' By Shirley Climo. The master sees Rhodopis dancing and rewards her with some beautiful slippers. Your task is to design a shoe for Rhodopis. Think about the materials that the Egyptians would have used. Did they have the same materials that we use today? Draw the design and label it, using expanded noun phrases to add extra detail. Start by thinking about what nouns are involved in a shoe. The strap, the soles (the bottom part of the shoe), the jewels. If you can't remember what an expanded noun phrase have a look at the link below. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zwwp8mn/articles/z3nfw6f Maths- I have updated study ladder with 2 fraction related activities. Have a go at these to help you should be able to see them if you click on the maths activities pod that I have created.Well done to those children who have already had a go at some of the activities on study ladder! Remember your individual login is on the front of your books that we gave out. Science-LO To carry out a fair test We have been learning about Friction. Conduct your own science experiment. Choose three different objects and find 3 different surfaces for example a table top, the bathroom floor, the kitchen floor (not when people are cooking!!) grass (if possible) , carpet. See how easy it is to push the three items along on the different surfaces? Which surface was the most difficult to move the items on? Why do you think that was? Which item needed the most force to move it? Write down what you have found out on the purple mash blog or in your homework book-Whichever is easier for you! Keep smiling year 3 :) Comments are closed.
