Looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday when you come to swap your books with your parents! :) Message from RihannonHi year 3! I hope you are all doing well. I miss you all so much. I thought I would send you a message to update you about my weekend. I had a relaxed week- I treated myself to a lie-in. I have spent most of the time reading, carrying on with my piano because I am trying to learn the piano. This morning I made some yummy pancakes. They were excellent if I do say so myself, I also watched some tv and did a video call with some of my family. Have any of you used technology to keep in touch with family and friends? I hope you are keeping safe, doing some learning and relaxing! Onto our learning today! Discuss with an adult or sibling and write your answers in your homework book. LiteracyWe read the beginning of the story last week in which the man dreams of living in a jungle with exotic creatures. Today we are going to gather vocabulary that we might use to describe the jungle. Lets begin by thinking about the nouns that we can see in the pictures. (leaves, trees, vines , footpath) How would you describe those nouns? leafy trees, vines winding arpund trees, It is important to consider the sounds that you might hear in the jungle, listen to the sound clips. What animals can you hear and what are they doing? MathsHow did you get on with your measures homework? First of all I wanted to introduce you to a tv series called number blocks- it is on the television so you may have seen it. It uses number blocks to explore number. Below is an episode all about the number 30. The perimeter of the outside is the length of the outline of the shape : https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zvmxsbk/articles/zsr4k7h Did you get the answer 32? What is the perimeter of these shapes? Measure each length on the computer screen or print this out and measure. Predict what you think the answer will be before you work it out. TopicOn Friday you learnt about the Amazon Raiforest- which a green area that is vital for our survival. There is a place called Manous is a very interesting city - have a look at it on google maps. What do you notice about it? Where is it and why do you think I have asked you too look at it. Would you like to like Manaus? Write some notes about what you notice about Manaus -use the image below or look at Manaus on your google maps - remember you can zoom in and out! A story for you to enjoy readingLucy sent me this link to a story that I know you enjoyed reading in year 1. I remember seeing you perform this story in Good Learning! Have a great day!
