Good morning year 3!
I hope you have had a lovely weekend- send in your pictures and messages about what you have been up to! I would love to hear from you all! Here is a picture of the lettuce I am growing!
Here is a message from Hasina- enjoy :)
Isn't the kitten sweet? Make sure you go to the purple mash blog and answer Hasina's question: What pet would you like to have if you could have one?
This week I will give you a small grammar task to kick the literacy learning off. Today we are looking at a and an.
Now that you've read the story - I asked you to draw the characters last week so you were confident about who they are. We need to know about these characters to carry out the learning today.
Today we are going to use relative pronouns to create sentences. Read below to remind yourself about relative pronouns.
The characters are :
The fire bird
The golden apple
Prince Ivan, who is the youngest prince, nearly catches the fire bird.
The golden apple, which was stolen, shimmered in the sunshine.
Have a go at writing your own sentences.
How did you get on with the Murder Mystery Challenge? I hope you enjoyed it! Special mention for Samirah who worked out the correct answer!! She also sent me a message which I loved reading!
"Hi Alice! It is me Samirah. This is my Maths work. I found the challenge question really hard but then my brother Aman helped me and explained it through! I hope you enjoy reading my work. I miss you lots!"
I miss you too Samirah- well done for using your growth mindset to get to the answer.
I will attach the answers to each challenge below.
Did you work it out? It was RUDY GEORGE.
Today we will be learning about coordinates! To read the cordinates you going along the x axis first and then up to read the y axis.
For example - lets find the coordinates of Batman- can you see him?
We go along the x axis to 5 and then up to 1 on the y axis. So the coordinates of Batman would look like this ( 5, 1). Have a go at the rest.
I will post the answers tomorrow.
After this have a go at the coordinates exercise on purple mash - it is a 2do.
History-Who invented the light bulb?
Electricity has changed the way we live our lives and we use electricity everyday for so many parts of our life. To use electricity as a light source the light bulb was invented. Watch the video and learn about the invention of the light bulb.
Use information from this video to write about what you have learnt.
Today we have begun to use a new type of light bulb- a more environmentally (good for the planet) friendly light bulb. Watch the video below to learn more. It shows that the light bulb is still changing even to this day!
Have a productive day year 3!
