Morning year 3!

Thank you to Emily for her blog takeover yesterday! Keep checking Emily's ELSA blog- it is on the main school website. She talks about managing your feelings when you are bored- which I know a lot of you might be experiencing at the moment!
Picture
Other blogs to check out- Ruth's spanish blog and the newsletter that Barbara has uploaded onto the website. It's Friday already- I think this was the quickest week yet! Thank you to the children for coming to the book swap on Wednesday- it was lovely to see you!We are going to be having bookswaps every other week now. So NO BOOKSWAP next week.

Thank you for emailing your learning in- I'm so proud of you all for using your growth mindset to continue your learning remotely.

How to post an image on the purple mash blog

The first link on the year 3 blog is a guide that Marion has kindly made to help us to use all of the features of purple mash. Read through this to help you! I am going to run through how to upload images to your blog posts. Click the green arrow in the class blog.

Create your post and click on the paper clip image that is circled to attach an image- the image must be saved onto the tablet or laptop that you are using. You can also upload work that you have done on purple mash.

Literacy- drawing the bird

Lets read the next part of the story- reread the last blog to remind yourself of the beginning of the story!
Picture
Picture
Your task is to find all the description of the bird in the text- it might be a good idea to write them down in your homework book. Once you have done this I would likeyou to draw your vision of the bird. What colours and tones might you use?  It is a bird made of fire but also it is described as being like a sparkler.Read the description carefully and have a go at drawing a bird! Don't worry if you haven't got coloured pencils - use pencil to sketch the bird. Think about what else birds have - a break, wings and feather. Please send your images in as I would love to see them. On Monday I will reveal the illustration from the story so that you can compare it to your version!

Rihannon's Task!

Hi everyone!

It’s been a little while! As usual I’m missing each and every one of you, and I hope you’re all staying safe.

My fun activity today requires a little bit of creativity. I have Hasina to thank for this idea! You’ll need a pen and some paper and your imagination…

You have four categories: person, place, object and season. You need to choose one thing from each category, and then write a story using these four things together!

CHOOSE A…

PERSON
- The prime minister
- A pair of twins
- A grandma
- Your favourite teacher

CHOOSE A…

PLACE
- A theme park
- On a boat
- In a jungle
- At the supermarket

CHOOSE AN…

OBJECT
- Bicycle
- Book of magic spells
- Guitar
- Video camera

CHOOSE A…

SEASON
- Spring
- Summer
- Autumn
- Winter

Now that you’ve got your four things, how can you write a story with all of them together? You can make it as wacky as possible! I’d love to see what you all come up with.

Rhiannon :D

P4C

This video is all about friendship. If they had shared at the beginning of the story then they would have not had to go through any of it.  What makes a good friend?
Have a lovely weekend year 3! Rest and relax and get outside for some socially distanced exercise.

Alice, Rihannon and Hasina
