Thank you to Amelie for sending in pictures of what she has been up to her with her mum! Lots of fun and lots of learning! Hola year 3! So today is Friday and school breaks up today for 2 weeks for our Easter holiday. I won't be updating my blog every every day - I will be leaving you with a project to have a go at during the holidays. I will also be continuing to check purple mash, espresso and studyladder. If you need to message me on there I will respond. You can also go back in the blog and have a go at any activities that you didn't do. Reading - finish reading Beth in the Nile and write a book review (in purple mash or in your homework book) about it. I will put a template in the 2 do section of purple mash. Literacy My pocket dragonI was walking in the forest yesterday at dusk when I found a tiny dragon cured in a ball on the floor. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. It is about the size of a 50 pence piece and has steam flying out of its tiny nose. I picked it up and it smiled at me. I'm going to look after him by feeding it some human food and water. The tiny dagon will have to be my little secret! Mum won't even let me have a goldfish let alone a dragon. it is now three weeks later- my tiny dragon is my best friend. When he is happy his scales glitter silver and when he is angry they glow red. I have named him Fred - he can turn himself invisible! Mum found out about Fred last week ,when she saw him she said ' he is the sweetest thing I have ever seen!'I can't remember what life was like before I found Fred. All I know is that he is now part of the family! This is my story- what might happen in your story? Maths - Calculation strategy revision (Look back in the blog to see the strategies) Addition 12 + 15 = 14 + 18 = 37 + 29 = 54 + 61 = Subtraction 30 - 13 = 90 - 30 = 110 - 92 122- 87 Division 21 ÷ 3 = 25 ÷ 5 = 22 ÷ 3 = (9 ÷ 3 = ) 26 ÷ 5 = (15 ÷ 5 ) Multiplication 2 x 20 = 1 x 10 = 2 x 23 = 2 x 20= 2 x 3 = Add your steps 1 x 14 1 x 10 1 x 4 = Add your steps Art- I hope you managed to practice your drawing skills yesterday. Today you are going to create an Egyptian landscape scene. This is your chance to create a landscape of your own. Can you see how the picture has been split into the dessert sand and the sky. The sky uses blue, white, orange and yellow(including white paint to create the clouds). Do the sky first. Draw your camels and pyramid or pyramids depending on how may you would like to include. You can use felt tips, pencils, paints or pastels or you could do a sketch of a scene using a pencil. You could also make camels out of black paper. You can be as creative as you like! Good luck (you can upload pictures of this on the purple mash blog). I will be updating the blog later on today with the project that you can have a go at during the Easter holidays.
