Good morning class. I hope you are all doing great. I have received lots of amazing learning from children in Y2. I am so proud of all of you that are working really hard and listening to your parents at home and being really patient and respectful. Way to go my superheroes!
Thank you Aaliyah for sending me your home learning. Looks like you are enjoying all the topics because I can see that you are putting a lot of effort into it. Great work in our measuring unit, you are very confident in reading scales and used the standard unit ml accurately. You have begun to compare mass of different items using a balancing scale and reasoning and justifying your answers. You have used your number bonds to find different ways to make 100ml. Your illustrations look really good, particularly the one with all the ideas George could use to teach Grandma a lesson. Also, great diagram of the frog life cycle, it is very clear and informative. Keep up the good work Aaliyah!
Ramisa I am so pleased to see you sharing your work for our class blogs. I know that you are mssing all the teachers and your friends from school. We are thinking of you and miss having you in class. Thank you so much for the lovely artwork with water colours, it looks amazing and very creative indeed! I love the tree you drew and the things you are good at and the things you like doing. I must say your presentation is superb. You answered the reading questions clearly and made some good predictions about the book we read last half term. Well done Ramisha!
Tayyibah - You are doing amazing learning at home. Your presentation is neat and I like some of the reasons you have thought of about George's marvellous medicine. Well done for using the dictionary to find the meaning of some of the words.I wonder if you can use some of them in your writing. Keep up the good work Tayyibah.
Furkan it is so lovely to see you sharing your work. You are tying you best at home and trying to be positive. Great work in measuring mass and sorting items that are more or less than a litre. I want to see more great learning from you. Well done Furkan!
Thank you Amelia for your sentences. You are really putting a lot of effort in your literacy work, especially writing. I am so impressed. I like how you have added more details by using adjectives and verbs. Great Job.
Finish reading chapter 3 and find out what other ingredients George is using to make the medicine. Today, I want you to use verbs and adverbs to show how George is putting all the ingredients into the saucepan.
emptied, poured, unloaded, squeezed, squashed, drizzled, dribbled, transferred, pressed, threw, splashed, squirted, sprayed, flung, tossed
gently, slowly, fast, quickly, happily, excitedly, carefully, swiftly, calmly, joyfully
Use the verbs and adverbs to come up with your own sentences. You can come up with your own verbs and adverbs if you want. Here is an example:
George emptied the shiny shampoo bottle into the enormous saucepan slowly.
Today's number fact: 1000g = 1kg
one thousand grams is equal to one kilogram
Yesterday we used grams (g) for measuring mass of different items. We use grams for measuring items that are light and easier to carry. Which standard unit would you use to measure feathers / pile of bricks? grams or kilograms?
