Can you write some inference questions to challenge me to see if I have understood the story well. Remember you can start your questions with - Who, Where, When, Why and How.
Today we are going to start reading the book. Yesterday, we made predictions about what might happen in the book. Some of you came up with interesting names for the tree. We are going to read only the first paragraph.
So our main character's name is Agouti, who lives in the forest. Draw a little picture of Agouti in the middle of your page and write some things he might hear, see, feel, smell as he walks through the forest. It could be that he smells a sweet scent, feels prickly thorns or heat of the sun, hears birds chirping, tree frogs croaking etc.
I hope you all know how to use a tally to count set of objects. Remember when you reach 5 you draw a mark or a line across. Today I want you to have a go at the challenges below.
You all know that a plant grows from a seed. I want you to find as many different types of seeds in your house. It could be from the fruit you eat or vegetables that you have for dinner. Collect as many seeds as you can over the next few weeks. You can sellotape them in your books and label them and describe how they look and feel.
