Good morning! How are you getting on this week's home learning? Remember today is our book swap. Please come from 2pm. Pauline will be there to help you. Also, you can leave messages for me and I will get back to you.
This story makes me think about the song Circle of Life from The Lion King.
Answer the questions below:
1. What was the name of the tree?
2. Where did Sam the Black Snake make its home?
3. How did the tree help Marty Mongoose?
4. What did Henrietta Heron eat for her diet?
5. What is a scavenger?
6. Who ate the Henrietta Heron's eggs?
How did you get on with the writing? Today, I am not giving you any extra work because I want you to carry on from yesterday. Please send in your writing once you have finished editing.
Re-read your work out loud and edit your work to improve:
Have you used capital letters for names?
Have you capital letters, full stops and question marks?
Have you used adjectives to describe?
Have you used direct speech with inverted commas?
Have you used exciting verbs?
Have you used time connectives to show order of events?
Have you written in past tense?
Once you have finished editing you can start thinking about adding George's thoughts in your writing. What is going through his head seeing Grandma like this. What about George's parents when they come back to see Grandma like this. Remember we are not making predictions. we need to write in past tense.
For the challenge cards, draw a circle to make the groups and then write a division number sentence to show what the cards are showing.
Today, you are going to be a PE coach. I want you to create a set of fun exercises that we can do to keep us fit. Draw your exercise on little cards and label them. You give the exercise different names. Once finished, get someone else to follow your exercise cards. You can add how many times, how many seconds and what order they should do the exercises in.
