Good morning children, it's Shyma here! I am really thrilled to see some of your fantastic work that you have doing at home. Please do keep sending in pictures of you work, to share with us and all your friends.
Remember to always try your best, and if you need help, ask an adult, elder sibling or message us on Purple Mash.
For today's learning, I would like you to have a go at doing the activities below. Remember, you do not need do all the activities at once; have a short break in between each subject.
I would like you to listen to the story called 'We Love Trees!' on YouTube. Click on the link or video below and answers the questions from activity 1.

For literacy, I would like you to read this page from the book 'The Tree of Life', and answers the questions from activity 1.
1. The villagers want to cut the tree! Do you think this is a good idea? Do you think the villagers should cut the tree down or not? Explain your reasons. Look at the table below. Can you write different sentences for or against cutting the tree.
Today we are going to learn about repeated patterns and growing patterns.
Repeating patterns helps you to predict what comes next based on what has happened before. For example, the pattern below has two elements that repeat, that is the green circle and blue triangle. What do you think will come after the blue triangle?
I would like you to have a go at some questions on repeated patterns. What patterns can you see?
Now we are going to learn about growing patterns. A growing pattern is a pattern that increases or decreases by the same difference each time. Look at the example below:
In this pattern, the purple square increases by one each time.
Have a go at drawing what comes next.
Now I would like you to have a go at some questions on growing patterns.
Question: If the colours changed each time, would this still be a pattern?
Challenge: Can you design your own growing pattern?
It's time to get our bodies moving!
Activity 1: Kidz Bop
Hope you had fun! What was your favorite move? Were there any moves you found tricky?
Activity 2: Follow the Leader
This is a fun activity for the whole family. First decide who is going to be the leader, and then the leader decides what movement/actions they are going to do for that round. For example, this could be running, hopping etc. You need to copy the leader's actions as best as you can.
You can also have a go at the messy bedrooms game below.
Recently, we are facing a lot of changes due to the Covid 19 outbreak.
I want you to think about how life has changed and how does this make you feel? What do you miss the most about school? Think about the things you are looking forward to most when this is all over. Share your thoughts on our Purple Mash blogs. Have a good weekend!
