It has been lovely to hear from you Year 1 and to speak to some of you on the phone.
Amira emailed me lots of pictures of her learning. She has found some great definitions of our new vocabulary and some good adjectives to describe Osebo. I can see that you have also been doing your maths lessons and I loved your toilet roll city! Fantastic work!
Ismail has also been doing lots at home, I am so impressed with all your effort!
Here he is hard at work and he drew a great picture of Osebo.
Can you think of some words to describe him Ismail? For example, he is yellow and he has a long tail. Now you need to label your picture with descriptive words and phrases.
Marwah has also been working hard. That is a great picture and speech bubble of Nyame speaking to Osebo! Well done for using capital letters, full stops and a question mark!
Morning All! I hope that you are all well and enjoying your learning. Myself and Eki will be calling all of you throughout the week to see how you are getting on. 😊

Which captions match each picture? Look for the digraphs (two letters, one sound) to help you read the words. These are all Phase 5 sounds, so there may be some split digraphs too, such as a_e (alternative ay sound).
Remember it is important to keep exercising... healthy body, healthy mind! Try this 8 minute workout from Joe Wicks, or go for a walk/ run/ skip/ cycle. Have a great day!
Today I would like to mention Ismail, Yousef and Amelie for their fantastic animal mind maps. Well done and keep up all your hard work!
Good Morning Year 1!

Our new text is 'The Leopard's Drum', it is set in Ghana in Africa.
You can listen to some African drumming here:
Look at the front cover, list all the animals that you can see. What do you think the story might be about? Write a prediction, 'I predict....'
We are going to be focussing lots on number and place value over the next 2 weeks. Please complete the lesson on BBC Bitesize.

Hello Year 1,
I hope you have been enjoying this beautiful sunshine. I have been trying to go out for a walk each day. Here are some ideas for things to do over the holidays...
Remember to be sure to relax and have fun with your family over the holidays! Make sure you get some exercise every day too.
Take care all, I will be in touch again next week.
It's almost the weekend and almost time for you to chill and relax because you deserve it!
I'm sure by now you have all read lots and lots of books. So for English today you will all be doing a book review on one of your favourite books that you have read.
Here are some examples:
Addition and Subtraction facts up to 10 and 20
13 - 7 = 19 + 1 = 17 - 7 =
10 + 10 = 15 + 5 = 20 - 10 =
16 + 4 = 12 - 2 = 11 + 9 =
Challenge: Is there a pattern ? (yes or no )
Explain your answer?
Today circle time is all about communication. So I thought about myself and how I communicate best with my family. The best way I like to communicate with my family is by playing games. Here are some games you could play with your family.

Have a lovely weekend
Good morning all! I hope that you are all well.
Learning for today...
I have set some tasks on https://www.studyladder.com/, log in to access them
I know that these are worrying times for you all. Here is a booklet (click on the word 'booklet' to go to the booklet itself) to help you to understand what COVID-19 is, talk it through with your family.
What are your worries? What helps you feel calm and relaxed? It could be reading a book, talking to your mum, playing, colouring etc.
Draw and label some of the things that help you to feel calm and keep them up on the wall, so you can use them when you are feeling anxious.
I have also set some 2Dos on Purple Mash. Have a good day everyone ☺️
