Good morning Reception! Look at these moments from our story 'After the Storm'. Think carefully about each picture. What is happening? What had happened before? What will happen next? What do you think the characters are saying to each other? Choose one of the pictures, and then write a sentence for one of the speech bubbles. If you want a challenge, write in more than one speech bubble!
Start maths by shuffling and reordering your numbers. As a challenge, can you start with 20 and order them from greatest (biggest) to smallest? How long did that take you?! This could be a great time to think about one less!
Each time you select the next number you can ask 'What's one less than ...' For example, 'What's one less than 13....?? 12!' For a challenge you could ask, 'What's 13 takeaway 1?' and then write the number sentence 13 -1 = 12 Have a go at these subtraction problems below. (Make sure you order your number line from 1 - 20 again before you start! Then you can use it to count backwards to solve the subtraction problems!) Comments are closed.
