Watch 'A Squash and a Squeeze' below, and try to join in, especially with the repeated phrase:
Wise old man won't you help me please?
My house is a squash and a squeeze!
We're going to be thinking about sharing equally today.
Find some counters in your house (you can use counters, beads, seeds, pasta...)
Now look at the picture of 3 of the characters below. Either print out the picture of draw it on some paper.
Have a go at sharing equally between them!
Remember, for it to be fair, they have to have the same amount - it has to be equal.
Count out 9 counters and share them out. How many did each character get?
Try again with 6, 3 and 12 counters!
I had a go at sharing out some sunflower seeds equally between them. How did I do?!
