Hi Nursery! Today is the last day of the term! :( We can't believe how quickly this year has flown by! You have all been amazing learners and have done so well in managing all the change this year. We are so proud of you ALL! Can't wait to see you all after the break!

Learning for Today..

Today we would like you to get creative!

Have you got any cardboard boxes at home? Can you make a road, a park, a train track, a cave, a bridge with it? What else can you make? Have fun making your own small world with your family!
Here are some ideas to get you started..

Keep practising your sight words and numbers!
Below are some fun ways you can practice at home...

Fine Motor Fun!

Make your own Butterfly lacing card [It can also be anything else you like, for example a car, a flower, a house etc]

You will need:
• Scissors • Cardboard • Crayons or markers • Hole punch • Long string or shoelace

Instructions:

Step 1: Using scissors, cut a large butterfly shape out of a piece of cardboard from a package or cereal box.

Step 2: Using a hole punch, make holes all around the outside of the butterfly 1 inch apart.

Step 3: Use crayons or markers to colour the butterfly. You can also read a story or show your child a picture to help inspire their design.

Step 4: Using your string, tie a knot around one of the holes so it stays in place.

Step 5: Encourage your child to thread the string all the way around the butterfly

Have fun!

Our learning for Today..

Today we would like you to think about things that you are looking forward to in Reception. You can look forward to  starting school in September by drawing things that you are excited about! Can you draw all the things you enjoyed in Nursery? You could also draw things you enjoyed doing whilst spending time at home with your families. What is your favourite thing to do? What are you good at? What would you like to become better at? Talk about it with your family.

I have made a butterfly template that you can use below or you can draw your own one!

We would love it if you could share it with us, please email a photo when you are done!

For Maths  today can you make your own number line and sing along to the 'Ten Little Numbers' song .

Once you have pegged the numbers on the washing line you can play a game! Chalk a line on the ground about 2 metres from the washing line.  [you can use masking tape for this as well] Then take a ball or bean bag and throw it at the line. You score the number you hit, if you can say the number! Take that number off the line. Continue until all the numbers are off the line.

Today your activity is to hide your favourite toy anywhere in the house and get your family to hunt and find the toy. You could try to hide the toy under, inside, behind something to use some of the words from the story. Have fun! Then you can swap roles where you go and hunt for the toy!

Where will you hide the toy?  [Adults can begin by going through the prepositions set below]   When you have found the toy can you say it in a full sentence?
For example:The teddy is in the box. The teddy is under the table.

You can also have fun playing hide-and-seek! Just like Spot was hiding in the story and Sally set out looking for him. Have you ever played hide-and-seek before? Who do you like to play hide-and-seek with? Where are some of your favourite hiding places?
