Indoor Year 5/6 Boys Kwik- Cricket CompetitionOn Wednesday the year 5/6 Boys Cricket Team played an Indoor Kwik-Cricket competition against different school in Tower Hamlets at Play On Sports in Whitechapel! The boys played very well and won 2 out of the 3 games in their group. The last game they played was a close one which then resulted in Old Ford going through the higher run rate. Well done to all of the boys who took part - you have really grown as a team and made it a wonderful day to remember!! ''This is one of my favourite parts of the year''On Tuesday I had a fantastic time at the SportsHall Athletics Festival with some children from Year 1/2/3!
It is so nice to see the younger members of our school take part and perform so well in mini athletic events! The atmosphere in the room was buzzing as the children took part in various events from long jump to javelin throw. Well done to Itman and Zhraa in Year 3 - They both won the 1 lap sprint! Nazimah in Year 2 completed her skipping event successfully scoring the second highest amount of the event! I am so proud of you all for being so positive and completing your events to the best of your ability! Roll on next year! I am so pleased to announce that Virginia has been awarded the SILVER MARK and have been upgraded from Bronze! To be awarded bronze was such an achievement but silver has really shown our growth as a school and our commitment to sport! The School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Schools in England are able to assess themselves across bronze, silver and gold levels! I am so proud of you all. Emily |
